    What Our
    Staff Link…

I have been working at Halesowen Day Nursery as one of the office administrators since 2019. I absolutely love the job and all the staff I work with. It feels like a family and we all support each other. Sarah the owner/manager is extremely supportive to all staff and truly cares about staff morale and well being. I love getting to know the children and watching them grow throughout there time at nursery, and building bonds with parents and supporting them with all enquires.

I have been here at Halesowen day nursery since January 2022, starting as a student in baby room and progressing to room leader in toddler room. This journey has only been possible due to the support and encouragement I have received from both management and other staff members. Starting in baby room with Jade and Michelle I gained the skills and confidence to become bank staff, from which I haven’t looked back since. I have loved my time here so far and I can’t wait for many more years to come.

One of my favourite parts of the job has got to be making bonds with both the children and parents, helping them prepare for the next adventure, be that walking or transitioning rooms where these bonds still remain intact. Management here have helped me continuously develop by providing a large range of training opportunities, sharing their personal experiences to help me in my new experiences and pushing me to become the best I can.

I started at Halesowen day nursery in July 2021 after the nursery I previously worked at closed down. I started here as bank staff coming in and covering as and where I was needed and I feel like I was very well supported by all staff members and soon felt like I fitted in well. Whilst working as bank staff, I got to interact with all of the children throughout nursery before settling in baby room for a couple of months before leaving to have my baby at Christmas of 2021.

When I wanted to return to work in the summer of 2022, Sarah was very welcoming and supportive with my decision and helped me to integrate back into work life and subsequently in November I became a member of toddler room working 4 days a week. This was great stability for my family financially as well as for the children and staff in the room as they already knew me. It has also been so lovely to see the bond that my own daughter has made with her key carer Summer and the other teachers in the room since she started in January.

Hi everyone I’m Ben I have worked at Halesowen day nursery for over 3 years. I love my job here and feel like I have been here for many more years! Initially I was maternity cover staff and luckily I managed to gain a full time role. Shortly after this I became a 1-to-1 with a child and the nursery supported me with this transition by offering training in this field and answering any questions and supporting me in many ways. After finishing my 1-to-1 roll I have worked in every room in the nursery and gained confidence and experience with all the age groups.

The nursery has given me lots of training and CPD, weather this is first aid or personal interests such as SEN and communication and language. I also teach the children basic Makaton and share my knowledge with others staff and parents. I feel the whole staff team works together well and is like one big family. The admin staff communicate with everyone about the day to day life of the nursery and communication is clear and accurate to meet all of the children’s and nursery needs. I look forward to continuing working at Halesowen Day Nursery.

Working at Halesowen Day Nursery is an absolute pleasure and walking through the door each morning has a real sense of coming home. Seeing the warm welcoming smiles from the children and seeing them grow and develop is a blessing and would not have it any other way!

    Jade

I started my journey at Nursery in 2015 as a volunteer and have been supported through every step of my journey and are now happy as Baby Room leader where I’m given plenty of opportunities to incorporate my own ideas into my daily practice and create a inviting, safe and calm environment for the babies.

Halesowen Day Nursery is like a home from home for me. Our staff team feels like a family, we all support each other and work cohesively. My role is to support the development of all the staff across nursery and ensure that all of the individual children’s needs are considered, planned for, and accommodated. I love the fun, playful environment we have throughout nursery which, coupled with a clear vision and direction, makes coming to work feel like a fulfilling and meaningful vocation.
